Christmas in Poland

Outside it’s cold, maybe even snowy, while a nicely decorated Christmas tree stands in the living room. Graveyards are glowing because of all the candles and you find many Christmas decorations there.

Almost everybody celebrates Christmas with the extend family. Most important is the evening of the 24th when we wait for the first star. Presents are opened after the extensive traditional Wigilia Christmas dinner. On the 25th and 26th we will eat goose and Bigos.

Beside Santa Claus, we have a white dressed beautiful young woman called little snowflake, similar to the Russian Snegurotschka. Additionally our Christmas chorals are world famous, e.g. Bóg się rodzi.
